Associate Degree Program

Paralegal Degree

The Associate of Science in Paralegal Studies degree program provides you with the educational preparation to seek entry-level positions as paralegals or legal assistants. This program also provides an academic foundation for transfer into the Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies degree program. In keeping with the demands of professionalism, the paralegal program consists of specialized coursework and a supervised externship in selected legal settings both public and private, such as police administration, law firms, real estate companies, title companies, bank and trust agencies, and judicial offices.

Criminal Justice Degree

South University now offers the Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice at the Savannah, Georgia campus. In most local or state laws, an associate's degree meets and/or exceeds the minimum education requirements to be considered for employment in areas such as law enforcement, corrections, juvenile counseling, and private security. The associate's degree may also be used as a building block toward a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, criminology, and other social behavioral science disciplines. Criminal Justice Degree

The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree program is designed to give you a broad perspective on the causes of crime and critical insights to the functions of the components of the criminal justice system. Courses in the program deal with crime, violence, and other forms of deviance and the responses to these problems by police, courts, and corrections; contemporary criminal justice issues; and ethical concerns and research. Students majoring in criminal justice receive preparation for further study in graduate or professional schools as well as for careers in the criminal justice system.

Legal Studies

The Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies degree program can provide you with a broad academic background in general education, fundamental theoretical legal concepts, and practical applications. The coursework emphasizes development of keen analytical and reasoning skills, as well as foster sensitivity to cultural and political diversity. As a graduate, you will be prepared for challenging assignments, including investigating cases, researching the law, and preparing documents for litigation or business transactions, while working under the supervision of an attorney.

Psychology Degree

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree program is designed to provide you with a broad background in general education, and to provide initial training and quality instruction for students seeking entry-level careers in psychology or a graduate degree in the behavioral sciences. The program includes the general education core of required courses and requires completion of a core of required psychology courses covering a general foundation stressing the scientific study of human behavior. Masters Degree Program

Professional Counseling Degree

The Master of Arts (MA) in Professional Counseling degree program at South University's Savannah campus in Savannah, Georgia is a 92-quarter-hour curriculum intended to meet the local and regional need for qualified professional counselors. The emphasis of this program is on community and agency counseling. 

The program is structured to allow you to pursue your master's degree while balancing the rigors of work and home. Classes meet Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and you have the opportunity to complete two classes each quarter.
